Remington 700 308 Winchester
Here is a 3 shot group from this custom Remington 700 chambered in 308 Winchester. Just about finished with the break in on the barrel. I'm pretty happy with the results thus far. This rifle has Weaver Tactical rings and a Nikon Buck Master 4.5-14x 40 mil-dot scope.

The latest Marlin 30/30
I just wanted to take a moment and share these pictures of my latest 30/30 project. The barrel is a factory camo barrel and the rest was finished with Cerakote.

Cetme .308 Project
Here we have a Century Arms Cetme rifle. This rifle was purchased as a project and like all the reviews on the net about Century Arms it's a crap shoot whither you get a good rifle or not. Well this one turned out to be a pretty good one. The factory finish wasn't that great, the but stock was cracked and the actions was so tight and dirty that it was almost impossible to work. I completely disassembled the gun and within the next 4 hours I was covered with grease, grime, and oil. The head space on the rifle checked out to be right in the middle of the tolerances so I was happy about that. These rifles from Century have been known to have false head space, as in they grind down the bolt just enough to show a correct head space. I then started the work of lapping the action. Now a person who doesn't lift weights all day can work the action. The trigger is a Two stage trigger that like the rest of the gun was dirty and felt like a 20lb pull. Cleaned the trigger pack up and polished it and now I think that I can live with the trigger pull. I have started the refinishing project on this rifle and when it is done it will have a custom camo finish. I've only put three rounds through it but it functioned beautifully. Once the gun is completed I'll post another picture and then this bad boy will be up for sale.

The Tactical Level Short Barrel
In the shop right now we are working on another great project. We are building a short barreled Marlin 30/30. When I saw short I mean the barrel length will be 16 1/2 inches, threaded to 5/8 24, and then fit with a Primary Weapon System 30 caliber muzzle break. The magazine tube will be cut down accordingly to accommodate the shorter barrel. We will be mounting a XS Sight rail along with an Eotech sight with the quick release mount. A quad rail accessory mount is also in the works for this project. For back up sights, we might be installing AR-15 style flip ups both front and rear. The complete action will be worked over alone with the trigger. Getting excited to finish up this project so that we can post some pictures.

AR-15 Pistol Project
I've been thinking for the past few days that it might be a lot of fun to build an AR-15 pistol. The project would consist of a standard ar lower, a short buffer tube, Hogue grip and forearm, standard upper, 12" barrel, a PWS CQB break, Danial Defence bolt and carrier, MagPul flip up sights and topped off with a Eotech weapons sight. I'm thinking that I will paint the lower, upper and barrel in earth brown. The Hogue grip and forearm would be in gillie tan. I would leave the dust cover black as well as the buffer tube and flip up sights black. With the proper sling I think that this would be a very easy weapon to pack and also be a great back-up for individuals who go out and predator hunt.

Complete rebuild of a 1911
What a fun project this turned out to be. This 1911 started life as a standard Government model that was tearing up its owner. This gun was miserable to shoot. The work that we did on this gun was very extensive and a lot of new parts were added. So lets get down to the business end of the build.
Started out by taking the pistol apart and looking at what we had to work with. We had been told by the owner that he had an individual install the tactical night sights. While this is a not an easy job to do we found that while cutting the sight dovetails out they had heated the slide to the point that it had started to harden. The front sight originally was a post style. I'm not sure when the front dovetail was cut but that individual tried to weld the post hole shut and made a total mess out of the front of the slide. Both in the dovetail slot and inside where the bushing locks into the slide. I've go into a lot of detail on this because #1: you cannot parkerize metal that had been hardened, and, #2: it changed how the bushing fit the gun.
Now for all the parts that we fit and replaced. Starting from the front, Wilson Combat Multi-Comp bushing, Wilson Combat 2 piece guide rod, new barrel link and pin, new firing pin and spring, Wilson Combat extended thumb safety, Wilson Combat Beavertail safety (which the frame had to be reshaped to fit), Custom adjustable trigger, Extended mag release, new sear, new disconnector, Clynder & Slide match Hammer, Hogue Gripper Grips, and a Smith & Alexander mag guide. All new springs where installed as well. All parts were polished to a mirror finish after the had been fit. The slide and frame fit was tightened and the lapped for a better fit. The frame was then bead blasted and parkerized while the slide was bead blasted and then painted with Aluma-Hyde II. Once this was completed they were again lapped and the gun was reassembled. A lot of hours went into this pistol and the finished product was better than what the owner had expected. Trigger pull measured a crisp 3.5 lbs without any play.

Custom Ruger 10/22
Here is a custom Ruger 10/22. With everything that is out there on the market, a person can really go crazy with building one of these things. I started by doing a complete action job making sure that everything was smoothed out to a mirror finish. The barrel that I used on this build is from Tactical Solutions, Fajen fully adjustable stock, Power Custom trigger kit with 2lb pull and titanium firing pin. The scope is an off name brand 6-24 x 50. I know, its a little over kill for a 22lr but it looks neat. I could shoot this thing all day and not feel bad.

1911 clone
Here we have a 1911 45 ACP clone. The pistol is very nice to shoot with the compensator and the fiber optic front sight. Just installed an adjustable trigger, new hammer, sear and Pachmayr grips. The slide and frame have been lapped so they are nice and smooth. The trigger pull is a crisp 5 pounds. This is a great all around pistol that can be used for shooting competitions or everyday carry. This pistol is up for sale and you wont have to spend an arm and a leg to get it. Send me an email if you're interested and we'll work out the details.
