The 17 mach 2 conversion

I have to say that the 17 mach 2 conversion for the 10/22 ruger is a great upgrade for anyone who wants a little more out of their rimfire rifle. Talk about a DRT (Dead Right There) round. The 17 mach 2 fires a 17 grain bullet at 2100 fps. Super flat shooting and great for targets out to 100 yards. Infact the designers suggest that you zero the rifle at 100 yards. You mid-range (50 yards) impact is only .6 inches different. Basically whatever your shooting from 1 to 100 yards just aim dead on and pull the trigger.

The rifle in the picture has a Shilen barrel, Volquartson bolt kit, Power custom auto bolt release, Power custom 2lbs trigger kit, custom thumbhole stock, and a Leupold scope base. This is a great rifle. I wished that it was mine!

AR-15 in Overdrive

This is my personal AR-15 which has been an on going project. I'll start with the bottom end and work my way up. I started with the standard DPMS complete lower. I replaced the pistol grip with an ergo rubber grip, took the trigger assembly out smoothed and polished it so it breaks at a crisp 4 pounds. Upper receiver is DPMS as well, with a Bolt Carrier from Daniel Defense followed up by a tactical latch from Model 1. The Barrel, H-Bar, is 16 inches with a PRI compensator and the gas block is an A2 front sight cut down smooth so a person can use a scope. Handguard is from A.R.M.S. with removable rails. I threw a no name bi pod on just for looks. The scope that is mounted is a scope that I purchased for testing to see how well it holds up under use. I was tired of losing brass so I purchased a UTG brass catcher.

What's coming up!

I'm in the process of moving everything from my old blog to this blog. In the next few days I'll have every firearm project that I have completed to date listed here with a full write up. All the dirty details of every gun will be here. I'm not perfect but I try and make my guns 100% perfect so give me a chance to work for you.

The Tactical Lever Action

This was a fun project. Took a Marlin model 336 chambered in 30-30win and completely disassembled it. Every internal part was lapped and polished to the point that you could see yourself in it. The bluing was stripped off and the Aluma-Hyde II was applied. The birch wood stock was sanded and then refinished with Aluma-Hyde II which gave it a synthetic look and feel. New open sights were installed and a fiber optic front sight was installed. This action is so smooth that you can operate it with one finger. The barrel was re crowned with a crown similar to a target crown.
